In August our oldest Juniors students will move up to Seniors and begin the next stage of their learning journey.
Naturally this transition can seem like a big step when you are 11 years old. At MIS it is important to make this transition as seamless as possible. Preparation is Key!
On Monday and Tuesday our Juniors spent their lessons in Seniors with specialist teachers and even had a night in boarding.

I liked the freedom of Seniors, we can move from lesson to lesson. My favourite lesson was English, we had a Quiz about what we knew about China. We had Physics and Geography lessons which do don’t have in Juniors, these were different. Now I am not nervous about moving to Seniors, I know where the classrooms are and the teachers were very nice and welcomed us.
English class was my favourite, we had Mr David and he wasn’t strict and made sure we had lots of fun. Geography and Physics was new to me. Now I am excited to move to Seniors, I was nervous before, now I am not so nervous, I think I will enjoy Seniors as I like the freedom. I will become a Seniors Boarder after the summer and I enjoyed my night in Rogerson, it was fun and I feel prepared.
Boarding in Chalmers was great fun. We can stay up to 9pm! Go to sleep at 9:30pm! Harry in Year 7 was my buddy and he looked after me. I love the boarding house with table tennis, pool tables and mini football.
Boarding means we can learn together. We had outside play in the evening after homework and I liked sharing a room with my friends. In Rogerson South we had the Monday Night meeting and the Rogerson Girls were so nice, they get Star of the Week and even Ice-Cream as a treat. We got Ice-Cream too. Year 7 Stella really looked after me, explaining the house rules. I am really looking forward to being a Seniors student.
