Economics Teacher

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, committed teacher of Economics to further their career at a fast-developing, innovative British curriculum co-educational international boarding school in Shenzhen, Southern China. The successful candidate will have an outstanding record of teaching in Seniors. The ability to teach A level Mathematics would be a distinct advantage.

Part-time from 6 Jan 2020 to June 2020 or Full time from 6 Jan 2020 to 31 July 2021


The Position

We are looking to appoint an effective professional who demonstrates thorough curriculum knowledge, can teach and assess effectively, take responsibility for professional development and has students who achieve well for January 1 2020 or as soon as possible.

You are required to carry out the professional duties of an Economics teacher at both GCSE and A level to Years 10-13 inclusive, plus any other duties as circumstances may require and in accordance with the school's policies under the direction of the Headteacher.

You will need to be a fully collaborative team player, able to work with a diverse group of staff, families and children. A depth of understanding of the needs of teaching children with English as an Additional Language is a must, as is the ability to be open to new experiences and an interest in cultural diversity.


Merchiston International School is a young school, having only opened in August 2018. *Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject or above is preferred.
