Bilingual Physics teacher /

Responsibilities

We are seeking enthusiastic, committed and ambitious  teachers of : Bilingual Physics/ Computer Science who can join us in August 2021.

  1. According to CIE (Cambridge International Examinations) syllabus, teaching relevant A Level /IGCSE subject courses in bilingual (Chinese and English)

  2. Assign appropriate homework and correct homework on time.

  3. Supervise students and monitoring students’ learning progress.

  4. Support students in any area of weakness,

  5. Demonstrate team spirit through teaching activities and constantly motivate passion for learning among students

  6. Attend meetings as requested (e.g. parents’ meetings, staff meetings, as well as any other appropriate meetings/promotional events), as may be reasonably required.

  7. Respect and comply with school regulations


Requirements

  1. Master’s degree or above in relevant subject with teaching certification

  2. Proficiency in English and Chinese

  3. At least two years IGCSE, A Level, IB, AP teaching experience

Library Assistant

Responsibilities

We are seeking a library assistant who can join us in August 2021.

  1. Performs circulation desk procedures, such as checking in and out materials, registering students and collecting fines.

  2. Assist the Library with reference questions and direct students to suitable resources.

  3. Assist in purchasing supplies.

  4. Assist maintaining library records.

  5. Assist in receiving the delivery of of shipments to the library.

  6. Shelving library materials and categorising the materials.

  7. Assist with creating high standard library programmes and displays which support the needs of the school community and promote the Library as a safe place for study and leisure.

  8. Promoting and fostering love for reading.

  9. Perform any other duties as may be required by the School Librarian, for the benefit of the school. 


Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree, Library relevant major is preferable

  2. Relevant working experience is preferred

  3. Good command of English in oral and written

  4. Interested in books,  positive and team player

Chinese Teacher

MIS is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Chinese to join us in August 2021. The successful candidate ideally would be able to teach across all phases in school. 

Responsibilities

  1. Teach differentiated levels according to students’ age, ability, and language background.

  2. Plan, develop, and deliver high-quality lessons and courses using a variety of approaches, to continually enhance teaching and learning.

  3. Manage student learning through effective teaching in accordance with the department’s schemes of work and policies.

  4. Contribute to departmental development by sharing professional learning, expertise, and skills with others in the team, through departmental training activities such as coaching and mentoring.

  5. Update course materials based on changing curriculum plan.

  6. Create structured, positive, and learning environment for students.

  7. Maintain strong and positive working relationships with students, parents, and other teaching staff.

  8. Be involved in extracurricular activities such as making contribution to after-school clubs and visits

  9. Be a role model for students at all times and ensure all school rules and policies are maintained.

  10. Perform reasonable duties directed by line managers and participate in school’s academic and pastoral system.


Requirements

  1. Master’s degree or above in Chinese as a foreign language, Chinese language, and literature, Applied Linguistics, Education, etc. (211/985 university in China, QS100 university in foreign countries)

  2. At least 5 years of Chinese teaching experience, with a proven track of record of excellent classroom and pedagogical practice.

  3.  Hold a correspondent teaching qualification.

  4. Thorough knowledge of Chinese language and culture, literature, and modern teaching methods.

  5. Proficient spoken and written English skills; able to teach bilingually.

  6. Provincial and municipal academic leaders, provincial and municipal class competition prize winners are preferred.

  7. Have a good ability to use IT to support teaching and learning.

  8. Be an active and enthusiastic member of staff in school.

Co-Curriculur Activities Coordinator

To assist in the implementation of the School’s enrichment programme, that specifically includes:

  • Academic societies

  • Academic visitors  programme 

  • School clubs 

  • The CCA programme

  • Extra-curricular sports      provision

  • Service/community activities (MIS      Outreach) managing prefects

Assist the Director of Enrichment in

  1. Working closely alongside the Head of Boarding and Pastoral Care and Staff, coordinate the boarding weekend programme for the school    

  2. Working closely alongside the Head of Juniors to ensure that the Juniors CCAs are providing a solid introduction for academic societies

  3. To design, implement and oversee additional enrichment activities that offer elite/specialised provision, potentially by third party agencies    

  4. To ensure that the quality of all enrichment activities is in line with school expectations through thorough monitoring and quality assurance measures    

  5. Ensure that the school’s CCA programme is rich and diverse with a range of high-quality experiences for students    

  6. Through leadership of the Outreach Coordinator (students) to ensure that the Service/community outreach program is effective and continues to grow and develop    

  7. To ensure that the schools enrichment program features strongly in marketing and promotional material    

  8. Ensure that school trips and visits provide a breadth and depth of experiences which supporting the academic curriculum    

  9. Working alongside the Head of PE to ensure that the school sports programme is delivered in a way that provides students with a high-quality program and a variety of sporting opportunities    

  10. Working alongside the Heads of Music and Drama to ensure that the school’s extra-curricular music and drama programmes are outstanding    

  11. To ensure that all enrichment activities are managed in line with the school's safeguarding expectations

  12. To ensure the effective provision of leadership opportunities for students within the co-curricular programme  

  13. To help oversee the co-curricular provision of the Performing and Visual Arts Departments, through assisting and guiding the planning and implementation of events, festivals, and rehearsals, as required    

  14. Through leadership of the Clan competitions, ensure that the ongoing competition is exciting, vibrant, and creating Clan spirit


Requirements
