Over the past two weeks, Shenzhen MIS opened its vibrant campus gates, holding three consecutive Open Days, each fully booked with interested families. Seeing the Details of 'Student-Centered' Approach in small Classes
For juniors school children, the warmth and quality of interaction in the classroom directly impacts their love for learning. During the Open Day, parents followed their children into the British-style classes, personally experiencing the atmosphere where "every child is seen." The child-friendly classroom designs were particularly engaging, and enabling students to actively participate in activities and confidently showcase their high English language skills to complete the real-life challenges set. This vivid scene led parents to a sincere emotion: "Learning in junior’s classes can be this lively and fun. Willing engagement is the best state for learning."
After class, parents had face-to-face communication with the junior’s school leadership team. From curriculum system design to ensure high academics throughout and after-school clubs to further expand student interests and expertise, to class arrangements in ensuring smooth transitions from early years to juniors, MIS teachers respond to every unique student and all areas of development through the holistic approach. Seniors school is a critical period for shaping children's values and abilities. The school not only showcased its rigorous academic curriculum and boarding management system but also brought "Holistic Education" to life through rich experiential activities. In curling classes, children adjusted their postures under teacher guidance, learning focus and strategy. During the parent-child dragon boat activity, parents and children worked together, the sound of drums and laughter intertwining, closing the parent-child distance while teaching children about responsibility and teamwork.
