◀Swipe for English◀

每一刻努力,都值得被看见;
As the autumn air deepens, our campus is filled with the scent of books and a vibrant energy. Last week (October 20-24), alongside sporting passion and artistic collaboration, MIS welcomed the highly anticipated annual "Reading Week"—a wonderful celebration of creativity and imagination. Let's take a look back at these shining moments.
Reading Week: Encountering Bigger Worlds Through Books
This week, MIS embraced its yearly Reading Week tradition, with the campus buzzing with literary excitement and creative activities.
We invited parents into the classrooms to read stories to the children, and students also enjoyed English stories read by our school leadership team during breaks, allowing the seeds of reading to sprout in the warmth of these shared voices. Our Librarian, Ms. Bi, carefully planned a "Reading Scavenger Hunt," turning reading into an exciting adventure.
During the three-day book fair, hundreds of new books attracted students to stop and browse. Parents actively participated, selecting wonderful books for their children. The most anticipated event was undoubtedly Friday's "Book Character Dress-Up Day"—children transformed into their favorite characters, from the magical world of Harry Potter to legendary historical figures, not only role-playing but also sharing their personal reading stories.
The Central Plaza Collaboration: A Canvas that Embodies Holistic Education
One of the highlights was the Drip Painting Experience, inspired by Jackson Pollock. Students stood before a massive white canvas, freely expressing themselves through splashes of color — one color each day. The final piece was nothing short of breathtaking, a true testament to teamwork and creative spirit.
During scattered break times, this canvas became the most popular "spot." Students and teachers paused with interest, adding a creative stroke or a playful footprint. This improvisational collaboration between individual and collective was filled with laughter and joy, ultimately creating a unique and colorful campus memory.
This seemingly simple and fun activity profoundly reflects the core of MIS's holistic education: We provide a framework for growth, but do not force-feed ideas; we emphasize teamwork and common goals, but value each individual's unique expression, never seeking uniformity. In this painting, every brushstroke is respected, every color is seen.
Swimming: Mansonians Shine Again in the Pool
This Monday, our Middle School swimming team achieved excellent results once again in the latest international school swimming competition, winning second place in the relay event, with several students also securing second-place finishes in their individual events. Every dive and every touch of the wall demonstrated their perseverance and team spirit.
Let's cheer for every shining student in the water!
Football: Young Players Show Sportsmanship on the Field
On October 21st, the MIS football team faced off against Huituen School in a friendly match. On the field, our students moved actively, cooperated seamlessly, and showed no fear against strong opponents, demonstrating tenacity and respect for their rivals. Both in offense and defense, they gave their all, embodying the sports spirit integral to MIS's "holistic education."
Open Day: Deep Resonance with Our Educational Philosophy and Campus Culture
On October 22nd, we welcomed prospective parents to our Campus Open Day. Guided by our teachers, the visitors toured the teaching buildings, art spaces, sports facilities, and other areas, gaining a deeper understanding of MIS's curriculum, teaching characteristics, and educational philosophy.
Subsequently, school leaders held discussions with the guests, centered on our educational philosophy and development goals, sharing in detail the school's practical achievements in areas like interdisciplinary learning and personalized learning support. The event featured frequent interaction and a warm atmosphere, with many parents expressing high recognition for the school's educational environment and student development outcomes.
Empowering Education Through Art, Co-creating the Future
On October 23rd, MIS was visited by Ms. Wei Yanxin, a singer with millions of followers and a student of renowned vocalist Professor Wan Shanhong, along with Mr. Xiang Yang, Head of the "Lingjing Plan." The guests showed great interest in learning about the school's long history and abundant educational achievements, with a special focus on visiting the MIS Music Museum.
In front of the rich collection of black vinyl records and vintage audio equipment, the guests paused to appreciate and personally experience the auditory feast delivered by these classic systems. Subsequently, Ms. Wei and Mr. Xiang held professional discussions with our music teachers. Both sides engaged in in-depth communication on topics like the trends in music education and the integration of art and technology. Upon parting, the guests expressed their desire to strengthen brand and curriculum cooperation with MIS in the future, working together to promote innovation in art education.
Every effort is worth being seen;
Every step of growth is cherished at MIS.
We thank all our students, staff, parents, and community partners for your support. We remain committed to building more wonderful educational moments with professionalism and enthusiasm!
