在深圳曼校，体育教育正绽放出前所未有的活力。我们始终相信，体育不仅是技能的锤炼，更是团队精神与全人教育的生动实践。今年，随着一系列创新举措的推进，一股充满激情、韧性与拼搏精神的体育风尚正在校园蔓延。

今年最令人期待的创举，是即将启程的马来西亚体育巡回赛。这趟旅程让学生运动员们跳出课堂局限，既能站上国际赛场感受竞技魅力，也能在跨文化互动中拓宽视野，更能在并肩作战中深化团队情谊。我们始终希望通过这样的安排，打破体育教育的边界，让孩子们在多元体验中，既提升运动实力，也实现个人成长的突破。

回顾这一学年，学生们在体育赛场上的表现格外亮眼。其中，我校加入国际学校体育联盟（International School League），无疑是里程碑式的一步 —— 联盟为运动员们搭建了常态化、规范化的竞技舞台，让大家能在规律赛事中锤炼本领。赛季开启后，高中部排球队、初中部足球队率先踏上赛场，每一次传球、每一次射门，都尽显精湛技艺与团队默契，更藏着不服输的韧劲；小学部篮球队也不甘示弱，初登赛场便活力满格，不仅打出了好成绩，更用礼貌与尊重诠释了体育精神，为未来的成长打下坚实基础。

不仅如此，我校的游泳嘉年华也成了校园里的 “热门活动”。泳池边，既有选手们劈波斩浪的精彩瞬间，更有全校师生、家长齐聚的热闹氛围 —— 大家为每一次进步欢呼，为每一份坚持鼓掌，让 “集体荣誉感” 不再是抽象的词语，而是每个人都能感受到的温暖力量。

在课程层面，体育学科的版图也在不断拓展。今年，我们正式开设了英国高中 A Level 阶段体育教育课程（A Level Physical Education）。这门课不只是教运动技巧，更带学生深入探索运动科学、竞技表现与体育领导力的奥秘，为那些想未来从事体育管理、运动教练、物理治疗或体育教育的学生，开辟了全新发展方向。

与此同时，GCSE 体育课程（GCSE PE）的学生也展现出超高热情，理论知识扎实、实践表现突出，让我们看到了他们对体育学科的深度理解。而在基础体育课程中，我们还特意加入了 “多元运动体验 + 实用生活技能” 的内容 —— 孩子们不仅能接触到击剑、攀岩等新兴运动，还能学习生存技能，让体育教育真正服务于生活。

展望接下来的时光，校历上那些备受瞩目的体育赛事，早已让我们满心期待。首先登场的是越野跑活动，赛事将以校园周边水库的旖旎风光为幕，既是对学生耐力的考验，也是一场全校人共同参与的体育盛会；紧接着，年度运动会将拉开帷幕，届时，各学院的运动健儿们会齐聚赛场，用速度与力量展现青春风采，让学院精神在呐喊中传递；而学年末的 “压轴大戏”—— 学院游泳嘉年华，会用欢乐又激烈的竞技氛围，为这一整年的体育记忆画上圆满句点。

在深圳曼校，体育从来不止是赛场上的比拼。它更像一段漫长的成长旅程 —— 在这里，孩子们学会坚持，懂得协作，更在输赢中塑造健全的品格。未来，我们学校的体育教育之路，定会绽放更耀眼的光芒。

The sports program at Merchiston International School continues to grow from strength to strength, reflecting our ongoing commitment to excellence, teamwork, and holistic student development. This academic year marks an exciting phase of new developments and achievements within our sports division, as we continue to build a culture of passion, resilience, and competitiveness across all levels.

One of the most exciting additions to our program is the end-of-year sports tour to Malaysia, offering our student-athletes a unique opportunity to experience international competition, cultural exchange, and team bonding beyond the classroom. This initiative reflects our vision to expand our sporting horizons and provide students with enriching experiences that inspire both personal and athletic growth.

The year has already seen remarkable progress and achievements among our students. Our participation in International School League has been a major milestone, providing consistent and structured competition for our athletes. The High School volleyball and Middle School football teams proudly kicked off the league seasons, showcasing skill, teamwork, and determination. Meanwhile, our Junior basketball teams displayed fantastic energy and sportsmanship in their opening season, setting a strong foundation for future success.

Additionally, our swimming galas have been a great success, highlighting not only impressive individual performances but also a strong sense of school pride and community spirit. These events continue to bring together students, staff, and parents in celebrating effort, improvement, and achievement in the pool.

Academically, our sports program continues to expand with the introduction of the A Level Physical Education course, providing students with a deeper and broader understanding of sports science, performance, and leadership. This addition opens new pathways for students aspiring to pursue careers in sports management, coaching, physiotherapy, or education. Our GCSE PE students have also shown exceptional dedication and are performing strongly, demonstrating their growing understanding of both the theoretical and practical elements of the subject. Our core PE curriculum has been developed to ensure all students experience a variety of new sport as well as life skills where students will learn survival skills as part of this unit.

Looking ahead, we are eager for the upcoming sporting events that form the highlights of our school calendar. We begin with the Cross Country event, set against the stunning backdrop of the nearby reservoir — a celebration of endurance and community participation. This will be followed by our annual Sports Day, a vibrant showcase of athletic talent and clan spirit, and we will close the year with our much-anticipated Clan Swimming Gala, a joyful and competitive conclusion to another memorable sporting year.

At Merchiston International School, sport is more than competition — it is a journey of character, teamwork, and lifelong growth. The future of our sports program is brighter than ever.
