Serina is very excited about joining Merchiston International School Shenzhen for the new academic year. She is a highly skilled and experienced international teacher. She has taught maths and well-being for nearly 20 years. In her career, Serina has worked in some of the most prestigious international schools, including King George V School in Hong Kong, BASIS and Nord Anglia in mainland China.Serina studied for her Advanced Diploma in Special Educational Needs from Leeds Beckett University, UK. She also received the international certificate in Educational Leadership from English Schools Foundation (ESF) whilst working in Hong Kong. Serina has been able to develop her pedagogy and support interventions through personal research and application of current education impact studies. She is always looking to develop her knowledge and skills through a commitment to professional development. She has attended and completed training in Focusing-Oriented Art Therapy from the Centre on Behavioral Health, University of Hong Kong. Currently she is studying drama therapy. Serina is passionate about helping students of all ages and abilities to realize their full potential. Her education philosophy and skills have allowed her to work very closely with her students, colleagues and parents through training workshops and coaching. Besides teaching maths, she has supported the wellbeing of all stakeholders online during the Shanghai lockdown and managed to stay positive. Serina enjoys art and drama.
