9月14日至18日，深圳曼彻斯通城堡学校迎来了国际学校联盟（CIS）认证专家组，深入校园教育现场，对学校的办学实践与学生发展进行多维度了解。

这是深圳曼校自2023年成为CIS会员学校以来，又一次与国际教育标准展开深入交流与对话。

国际学校联盟（Council of International Schools，CIS）是全球国际教育领域具有广泛影响力的国际学校组织，致力于推动学校持续提升教育质量，并通过国际标准与专业交流，支持学校不断发展。

从成为CIS会员学校，到此次CIS访校团走进校园，曼校始终将国际教育的专业标准与学校自身的发展实践相结合，在持续交流、审视与改进中探索更高质量的国际教育。

此次访校期间，CIS访校团深入曼校一线教学现场，通过校园参观、课堂观摩、师生及家长访谈、管理团队工作坊等多种形式，从不同维度了解学校的日常教育实践。

在与家长的交流中，家长们分享了选择曼校的原因与真实体验。个性化的全人教育、沉浸式的英文环境、富有爱心的教师团队，以及开放、包容的校园氛围，是许多家庭认可曼校的重要因素。同时，家长也围绕家校沟通、学生成长支持等方面提出了建设性建议。

学生代表则从学习与校园生活出发，分享了自己的感受。他们提到，导师制、校园安全体系以及老师持续的学习反馈，为日常成长提供了支持；同时，他们也对课后作业、教学设备、社团活动等方面提出了自己的期待。

教师团队的交流则更多聚焦于课堂实践与学生发展。围绕项目式学习、跨学科探究、CCA拓展活动以及多元化评估，教师们分享了实际教学案例，也就跨学段教学衔接、教学标准协同及教师专业发展展开讨论。

在此基础上，CIS访校团与学校管理团队开展了专项工作坊，围绕学校治理、学生福祉与保护、EAL语言支持、学段衔接、寄宿项目、教职工福祉以及数字化与AI教学应用等议题进行深入交流，共同梳理学校现有实践与未来发展方向。

经过多维度的校园巡访与交流，CIS专家组给予了积极反馈。

他们表示，在校园的不同环节中，都能感受到曼校所呈现出的学术氛围与温暖文化，并特别肯定学校对学生福祉的重视，以及帮助每一个孩子充分发挥潜力的教育理念。

与此同时，专家组也从教学实施一致性、学段衔接、评估反馈、家校沟通以及学生在校体验等方面提出了进一步提升的方向。

As autumn gently arrives in Shenzhen with refreshing breezes, Merchiston International School Shenzhen (MIS) welcomed the visiting panel from the Council of International Schools (CIS) between 14 and 18 September to examine on‑the‑ground educational practice and student development across the school.

This marks another in‑depth dialogue with international education standards since MIS gained CIS Member School status in 2023.

The Council of International Schools (CIS) is a globally influential organisation for international education. It drives continuous improvement in educational quality and supports school development through internationally‑recognised standards and professional peer engagement.

Since achieving CIS membership, MIS has consistently aligned international professional benchmarks with its own educational practice. Through ongoing dialogue, critical review and iterative improvement, the school pursues ever‑higher standards in international education.

During the visit, the CIS panel immersed itself in MIS day‑to‑day educational life. Activities included campus tours, classroom observations, interviews with students, parents and teaching staff, and dedicated workshops with the school’s leadership team to gain multi‑faceted insight into operational practice.

In parent discussions, families shared their reasons for choosing MIS and their real‑world experiences. Many value the school’s personalised holistic education,immersive English‑language environment,caring teaching body and open,inclusive community culture. Parents also offered constructive suggestions concerning home‑school communication and student support.

Student representatives reflected on learning and campus life. They noted how the tutor system, campus safeguarding framework and regular formative feedback from teachers underpin their growth, while putting forward expectations around homework workload, teaching equipment and co‑curricular provision.

Teaching staff conversations centred on classroom delivery and student progress. Drawing on practical examples including project‑based learning, cross‑curricular inquiry and co‑curricular activities (CCA), teachers explored multi‑modal assessment. They also discussed opportunities to strengthen consistency across year‑group phases, improve transition arrangements and expand opportunities for teachers’ professional development.

Building on these stakeholder conversations, the CIS panel and MIS leadership held focused workshops covering school governance, student wellbeing and safeguarding, EAL provision, phase‑to‑phase transitions, boarding, staff wellbeing, and the application of digital tools and AI within teaching. Together they reviewed current practice and mapped future development priorities.

Following this wide‑ranging campus review and series of discussions, the CIS experts delivered positive preliminary feedback. They observed an atmosphere of academic rigour alongside a warm, supportive culture across the school. In particular, they commended MIS’s strong commitment to student wellbeing and its educational mission to help every child fulfil their potential.

The panel also outlined areas for further enhancement: consistency in teaching delivery, cross‑phase transitions, assessment feedback processes, home‑school communication effectiveness and the overall student experience.

For MIS, this exercise represents not merely external benchmarking but a valuable opportunity for internal reflection. Real‑world classroom dynamics, student perceptions, parental viewpoints and teacher practice all provide evidence to inform the school’s ongoing improvement journey.

MIS continues to advance its British‑style international education, investing in academic outcomes, curriculum design, student development and community building.

In the 2026 HSBC · Forbes China International Schools Evaluation, MIS achieved notable results among pure‑British international schools in Shenzhen:
