Brought up as an army child, Mark moved schools and countries from time to time and so has an understanding of international school students.  After studying art at college and Art History at university, Mark taught English for 5 years before getting his PGCE at the University of Edinburgh.  He has taught in a number of international schools from grade 2 all the way up to sixth form.  

Mark is a passionate and experienced educator, who likes to utilize his teaching experience to help students reach their full potential.  He is dedicated to creating an engaging and enjoyable learning environment for his students.  His teaching philosophy is based on student-centered instruction, and he strives to create meaningful, collaborative learning experiences.  Mark has experience teaching a wide range of subjects, including Maths, Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science as well as Art.   

In his free time, Mark enjoys travel.  He is excited to be part of the Merchiston community and is looking forward to working with the students, staff, and parents to create a positive and rewarding learning experience.
