Tim completed his BSc in Geography and Sport Science at Loughborough University. Upon completion of his undergraduate study, he worked as a Learning Support Assistant in an English Secondary School. During this time Tim worked with a range of students with various educational needs but was particularly interested in working with students that had emigrated to the United Kingdom and were therefore considered second language learners. This initial interest led Tim to seek international jobs that focused on teaching English as an additional language. Eight years ago Tim decided to move to Shenzhen and now refers to himself as a ‘Shenzhener’ and calls the city his home. During this time, he has worked at various schools and educational institutions and completed his IPGCE with The University of Nottingham. Outside of the classroom, Tim enjoys participating in various sports ranging from traditional team games such as basketball and rugby to more adventurous outdoor pursuits such as surfing and hiking. Aside from sport, Tim is also a keen photographer specialising in macro photography which focuses on the often-overlooked beauty and patterns of the miniature world.
