Born and raised in England, Jason was educated in Surrey before completing a degree and a Postgrad at Coventry University.  After graduation and enjoying many successful years in recruitment and as an Account Manager, Jason moved into teaching gaining his teaching qualification through The University of Warwick whilst teaching at a top UK College, then having positions as a teacher, college lecturer, curriculum team leader and Head of Department in England and EAL teacher in China and South Korea.

Jason was Head of Mathematics at one of Surrey’s top colleges and was the Curriculum Team Leader for Maths at one of the most prestigious colleges in West London and managed a team of 12 specialist teachers as well as taught GCSE and FS Maths lessons each week.  Jason had the responsibility for the development of cross-college GCSE and Functional Skills maths, reviewing and promoting use of course materials and best practice within the course team to enhance the quality of the learner experience and ensure high standards of retention and achievement across 1600 maths students.

Jason taught GCSE and Functional Skills Mathematics to 12–19-year-olds, many of whom have English as a second language.  With the ability to enthuse, inspire and engage learners by adopting varied teaching methods and resources such as peer-to-peer teaching and learning, flip learning, using videos and using project and problem-based activities for students to solve individually or in groups.

Whilst teaching and managing in London, the college was rated as Outstanding by OFSTED which ranked the college as one of the best in the country for the delivery of the highest education and welfare of the students. Jason has also been through three other OFSTED inspections which were rated good with outstanding features.

Away from teaching, Jason loves spending time with his family, walking, watching sport and riding motorbikes.
