Jenna was born and raised in the United States. She lived in Lowa but would spend her summer breaks traveling around the country with her father. This experience instilled in her a deep love for travel, meeting new people, and experiencing new things. She would later get an associate degree in small business management and entrepreneurship and a bachelor’s degree in graphic design. And Jenna spent 7 years as a volunteer teacher.
Then they packed up their bags and moved to China where Jenna became an art teacher. As an art teacher she has taught both middle school and high school students. Jenna is currently obtaining her master’s degree in education and does regular professional development courses.
As a teacher Jenna strives to ensure her art room is always a safe place for students to express themselves and their feelings. She implements a choice-based art curriculum and encourages them to use their life experiences to influence their artwork. This way students can learn but also make art that is incredibly meaningful. Her art room focuses on collaboration, critical and creative thinking, problem solving, and much more. Jenna is a strong believer in using art to teach children a variety of skills
Jenna takes on her role as a house parent in a similar fashion by creating a safe place where students can learn, study, and share their experiences with one another. Her goal is for Pringle to be a second family to the students who live there. This way students can feel safe, loved, and ready to take on the day.
When Jenna isn’t focusing on education she is reading, rock climbing, or spending time with her husband, daughter, and their bunny named Jumper.
