Nationality: British 

Born in Birmingham UK, Benjamin was schooled at King Edward VI Camp Hill grammar school before reading Philosophy at the University of Manchester. After a year teaching English in Japan, he joined the Teach First programme, teaching in a secondary all-girls school in London for two years. He then joined the leadership team on the Teach For India initiative, first as a Programme Manager in Delhi and then a Senior Programme Manager in Chennai. Returning to London in 2013, he worked for 10 years at the highly successful London Academy of Excellence as the Deputy Head (Pastoral and Co-Curricular), including a 6-month stint as Acting Headteacher. The school regularly sends more than 30 students each year to Oxford and Cambridge and is ranked one of the top colleges in the UK. In 2020 Benjamin completed his National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) and from 2018 to 2023 Benjamin was the Safeguarding Governor and Chair of the Curriculum and Standards Committee at Kingsford Community School, a Confucius Classroom School. 

Benjamin believes in the importance of an all-round education that nurtures all children to achieve the best of their potential. He is particularly passionate about developing student leadership and combining values-based education with high academic rigor. Benjamin has worked closely with the top independent schools in the UK, including Eton College, and through this experience has developed a clear vision of outstanding pastoral and boarding education that has the power to transform the lives of young people. His work on wellbeing saw his previous school recognized as one of the top three schools in the world in the World Best Schools Prize.  

Benjamin is a keen runner and enjoys his training for marathons. He is married with one young child.
