Michael’s passion for global education stems from his rich and varied upbringing. Born in New Zealand and having experienced the education system primarily in England, he brings a unique perspective to teaching.

He began his teaching journey at an English learning centre in Hangzhou, China, where he spent two years honing his skills. After returning to New Zealand, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Teaching and Learning from the University of Canterbury. This international background has equipped him with a deep understanding of diverse student needs and multicultural learning environments. Michael fosters an engaging classroom through collaborative, hands-on learning.

Beyond the classroom, Michael enjoys traveling with his wife and young daughter, exploring new places together. An avid basketball and football fan, he looks forward to contributing to the Merchiston International School community in Shenzhen, supporting students' holistic development and academic growth.
