Jennifer Zhao
Teacher of Economics

Education Background: Bachelors of Economics – LSE

Nationality: Chinese

Originally from Beijing, she moved to the UK at the age of 17 and completed her A-Levels there before earning a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics. This cross-cultural journey gave her first-hand insight into the academic and emotional transitions that international students often experience — an insight she now brings into every classroom. Over the past three years, she has taught IGCSE, A-Level, AP, and DSE curricula in mathematics, statistics, and economics. Her teaching approach blends rigorous conceptual foundations with targeted exam strategies, and she takes pride in helping students consistently achieve grades above their predicted targets. Beyond results, she actively tracks each student’s progress and maintains regular, transparent communication with parents, because she believes that strong home-school collaboration is key to sustainable growth. She holds a Chinese senior high school English teaching qualification, which adds to her professional versatility. In addition, she has coached students to awards in the ASDAN business competition and the AMC mathematics competition, demonstrating her ability to guide students in both commercial and STEM fields.

In her spare time, she enjoys swimming and dancing, bringing a balanced and energetic presence to the school community. She is excited to join a community that values both
academic excellence and whole-person development, and she looks forward to supporting students in becoming confident, independent learners.
