My name is Adrian Heron and will be the year 6 homeroom teacher. I have been living and working in China (Shanghai) for just over a year, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time in this fascinating country so far.
Prior to moving to China, after graduating from Nottingham University with a PGCE in 2016, I have worked in Bilingual and International school settings as a Primary Homeroom Teacher. In addition, I’m on course to attain my UK QTS in the coming months, with a view to completing a MED thereafter.
Outside of school, I enjoy playing and coaching football, a passion of mine for which stems from coaching in the USA back in 2001. During this invaluable experience, I fostered a love of education and working with children which continues to grow and strengthen to this day.
The skill acquired on the football field I transposed into the classroom, where I enjoy bringing learning to life, and endeavor to bridge the gap between the abstract and the real world, and ensuring children exceed their potential, both academically, but also aim to develop important character traits, alongside key skills for life.
I’m now very excited to leading the children and this learning journey!
