Originally from Ireland, Wesley is an experienced international educator and school leader with a Master’s degree in Elementary Education and a PGCE in Primary Education. His career has taken him across Ireland, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam and China, where he has worked in a range of international and bilingual school settings.
Throughout his career, Wesley has held a variety of teaching and leadership roles and currently serves as Deputy Head of Juniors at Merchiston International School. His experience spans curriculum development, assessment, student wellbeing and teacher development. He is particularly passionate about supporting teachers through collaboration, mentoring and professional development, while helping to create consistently high-quality learning experiences for all students.
Wesley’s educational philosophy centres on strong relationships, high expectations and developing confident, curious and independent learners. He believes students should feel supported, included and appropriately challenged, while being encouraged to explore, collaborate and take increasing ownership of their learning.
Outside of school, Wesley enjoys illustration and painting, exercise, martial arts and reading, and continues to develop his interests in education and leadership.
