On May 14th, at the over 600 years old New College of Oxford University, and in an office with over 600 years of history, Lighthouse International Education Group (hereinafter referred to as Lighthouse Education) officially signed a contract with the Oxford Center for Tutorial Teaching Limited at the New College of Oxford University. This marks that Lighthouse Education will be the first education group who introduce the tutorial into China and will be extended to affiliated primary and secondary schools, which has been implemented at the University of Oxford for nearly 1000 years. In the future, it will empower teachers in its affiliated schools and more teachers in Shenzhen and Asia, and carry out tutorial teacher training, thereby empowering children in Lighthouse Education's affiliated schools and more children in the Greater Bay Area and Asia. In addition, both parties will collaborate to hold various winter and summer camp, creating exclusive and customized learning opportunities for students.

Mr. David Palafreyman, fellow of the New College of Oxford University, director of the Oxford Center for Higher Education Policy Research, author of "THE OXFORD TUTORIAL THANKS, YOU TAUGHT ME HOW TO THINK", and head of the Oxford Center for Tutorial Teaching, as well as Mr. Jianjun Lyu , founder of Lighthouse Education, attended the ceremony and signed the contract.

Mr. David Palafreyman said, "Lighthouse Education is very visionary and courageous, with several schools in Greater Bay Area and each has its own characteristics. We believe that the 1-2-1 tutorial model, which has been practiced in top universities such as Oxford and Cambridge for hundreds of years, can be revitalized through Lighthouse Education's practice in Shenzhen and even in Asia in the future. It can broaden the breadth and depth of education, and assist teachers and students in critical and creative thinking. We look forward to future cooperation between the two sides."

The tutorial system is the most important education system at the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge in the UK and is hailed as the most brilliant gem among all higher education systems in the UK. Every undergraduate student at the University of Oxford is equipped with a tutor, each tutor only teaches 1-2 students. The tutor meets with students at least once a week, each time for at least 1 hour, and comprehensively follows up on their learning, life, and other aspects. The tutor does not directly teach students academic knowledge, but guides students to think actively, search for information, cultivate critical thinking, stimulate their creativity, and help them develop comprehensively through various forms such as questioning, interaction, and homework assignment.

The tutorial program dedicated to the development of primary and secondary school teachers has now entered the curriculum development stage. In addition to Mr. David Palafreman, the participating professors and experts include Prof. Edmund Kwok, vice chairman of the Board of Directors and the chairman of the Academic Committee of Lighthouse International Education Group, Dr. Christine Lai, Dean of the Academy of Lighthouse Organization and Talent Development, Mr. Ken Mayhew, Honorary Professor of the Department of Education at the University of Oxford, and Mr. Robert Gulliver, former Principal of the New College Affiliated Primary School at the University of Oxford, as well as other experts and frontline educators. Both sides had a pleasant communication in a friendly atmosphere and had a thorough discussion on the implementation of the Oxford tutorial project. The consensus reached by both parties is: all teachers participating in the tutorial teacher development program will receive a certificate issued by Mr. David Palafreman, as well as a continuing teacher development certificate issued by the School of Education at the University of Buckingham. This course will also become a part of the PGCE certification program at the University of Buckingham, which is a mandatory certification for all British teachers and all the participated teachers will ultimately has the opportunity to obtain an internationally recognized teaching qualification.

Next, as cooperation progresses, in order to ensure that the tutorial teacher development program is more suitable for the teacher team of Lighthouse International Education Group, the team from Oxford University will conduct research on teachers at Lighthouse International Education Group affiliated schools and introduce a selection system. All teachers of Lighthouse Education will have the opportunity to participate in this project, and the first batch will provide training opportunities for 30 teachers.
