I like the shape of the museum as it is very unique, and I have not seen an art exhibition like this before. The most impressive is the painting of the stray dog as it looks very realistic and interesting. I like how they use the shading and the long and short lines to make the dog's fur more realistic like. ——Ayla Qureshi (Y10)
After visiting this exhibition, I learnt more about fashion. I also got a lot of inspirations from it to apply in my following project. Starting from the exhibition hall, the first entrance is the ancient Chinese fashion. Moving forward, the timeline starts to move with different periods of fashion at each distance and finally approaching to the modern era. Each period has its own unique characteristics and techniques, such as the choice of fabrics and weaving techniques.——Alex Liang (Y11)

Howard's Diary:
Today was the first day of our 2-week summer camp in oxbridge. In the morning, we had some time to adapt and take a look around the campus, given an opportunity to shop at stores never seen in China.
Afterwards, we headed for lunch in the hotel, which was sandwiches and crisps. We all headed towards our classes for the first time, where we were met a teacher, who was a 20 year-old graduate of Cambridge there to answer all our questions. She started off in the first 45 minutes by introducing herself and getting to know more about us. Then we went into the backyard of the school, where i got stung by a wittle (idk). For the second class, She talked about what you need to do specifically to get into oxbridge, not by knowing a lot about the subject, but wanting to know a lot of the subject. For the third class, we discussed the problems around the world that you wanted to help solve, which was also very helpful for getting into university because demonstrating the willingness to learn and engage with the world around you is an important trait for university admissions.
After classes, we returned to the Hotel for a short rest before having time to walk around the campus. The campus wasnt like anything i’d been to before. I really like how large and lush it is, with the sun only setting at around 9 o’clock. Shops like () are just bigger than all the shops in China. There was a park there, a huge park where animals flocked. There were deers in the trees and swans in the river.

Aileen's diary
Today in class we learn the dopmine detox it identifying behaviors that you turn to too frequently for a quick boost—mainly things like social media, gaming, and watching TV—then taking a break from them for a few days to a week. And the other two words is Dopamine and Homeostasis, Homeostasis is means the tendency towards a relatively stable equilibrium between interdependent elements, especially as maintained by physiological processes. Dopamine is a compound present in the body as a neurotransmitter and a precursor of other substances including adrenaline. In a easy way to say this lesson is when you look at the phone or playing game it were release a chemical which were keep letting people doing useless thing. In conclusion, we can choose one day in a week to read some book and try to not use phone or things that were affect human body things. And then Miss Serika let us to know each others more clearly, my partner is Samuel, and he told me about him. Than Miss Serika let us ask question about her, and she want to be a lawyer that is so cooool! And we talk about lot of thing about us. When we finish lesson we went to the book shop of Cambridge and my friend Cherry buy a book about business called Experiencing the new world of work by Jeremy Aroles. And we go back to the hotel eat some food afterwards we go out to play the frisbee. Todays weather is rainy and sunny day, but i quite like rainy day so i think today is a best day of these two days.

Cherry’s Diary
Today is Friday. We still have a detailed plan to do. The breakfast was still the same. I ate two croissants and a cup of milk. It was tasty but I thought it was easy to get fat. After I went back to my dorm, I got the message that we were going to lesson at 9, which is great because I can take a break. I have finished remembering my vocabs. We went to the institute. During the lesson, Ms. Serika first asked the things we had done yesterday. Unfortunately, I just spent the whole day in my dorm since my knee was hurting. Then she told us about her life in Cambridge and what she thinks is the difference between Cambridge college and other UK colleges. It sounds interesting because that’s the purpose I came to this camp: to explore what life is like in a college in the UK. And she told us that if you are a Cambridge student, you have got accommodation for 3 years and they provide food for you, but after that, if you keep staying in the college you have to rent a house by yourself. After 11 a.m., the class finished, we went to the big shop and bought snacks. Because these days, lunch is always sandwiches. It’s delicious though, but dull. We saw the fusilli, which looked tasty, so we bought two as our lunch for today. It’s really good though, but we couldn’t find a place to warm up the food, so sad. As expected, the lunch is sandwiches, but today, they heat the sandwiches, which are quite delicious, but at that time we were full already. We went back to the dorm and took a rest. In the afternoon, we go back to the academy and have a lesson as usual. The topic for this lesson was different. It’s my favorite part—— debate. The topic is about whether social media make children less socially active. I was forced to choose the side I didn't like, but we got enough time to prepare for it, so during that time, I came up with plenty of ideas and examples which can fully support my side. I felt nervous when expressing my ideas, but it still went on successfully. I like debate, but also not. Because everything is two-sided, even though we have got enough evidence to support our argument, we can’t fully say st is 100% correct. Just like today’s topic, even though we realize that social media do have more negative effects on human behavior, we can no longer live without them. It only depends on how we use it. I just realized that today is the last lesson that Ms. Serika will teach us. I like this kind of lesson, because she does teach me a lot. And I told her that there is 1% probability that we will see each other after a few years in Cambridge. We visited another college after that. It’s pretty big but my knee hurt a little bit so I just found a chair and took a rest. We took some pictures and wondered around. Finally, we went back to our dorm. We follow the mobile navigation and finally back to the hotel. Today’s dinner is tasty and cheesy, it’s a traditional dish in the UK——ish and chips. It’s delicious though, but I didn’t eat that much since I'm afraid I'll have a sore throat. For tonight, we can choose whether to stay in the dorm or have a walk outside. I am sleepy so I just stayed in the hotel. In conclusion, today is a day full of activities. It makes everyone tired but happy since we are staying with friends. And Happy birthday to Kale.

Alex's Diary
Location: Cambridge
Morning:
We woke up early this morning and briefly ate breakfast. After that, we went to the reception and get ready for the whole day's visit. Go outdoors the sky was raining and We walked about twenty minutes to the Downing site college. Along the way, I saw a large group of college students wearing academic dress and having their graduation ceremony. Arrived at the college, there was a museum inside which is about earth sciences. When we step into the museum there were a series of fossils and stuff from various centuries on display.
Afternoon:
The sky was still raining while we started our journey on time. In the afternoon, we went to Our Lady and the English Martyrs church to visit and spent an estimated 20 minute walking through there. The interior of the church was stately, gorgeous, and impressive. Then we headed to the Scott Polar Research Institute, which is a center for research into the polar region and glaciology worldwide. I saw lots of information and interventions that were linked to the polar. When we came out, the rain was getting heavier, so we had to walk faster to get back to our accommodation.
Evening:
It was almost the end of our day the time was getting late but the sky was still bright. We ate the pasta as our dinner and had a rest in the remaining time.
