从伊顿公学到哈罗公学，从牛津、剑桥到无数英国百年名校，人们始终相信：一个孩子如何面对比赛，往往比他赢得多少比赛更重要。

因为奖杯记录的是一次胜利，而体育塑造的，是一生受用的品格。

9月20日，观澜湖国际学校联盟高尔夫邀请赛如期举行。

对于很多学校来说，这或许只是一场普通的校际赛事。

但对于深圳曼彻斯通城堡学校而言，这一天格外值得被记录。

因为在赛事与其他重要比赛撞期的情况下，学校部分种子选手无法参赛。原本，我们完全可以选择缺席。

但最终，一群热爱高尔夫的孩子站了出来。

他们穿上曼校校服，在深圳依然炙热的九月阳光下，走向球场。

为了学校。

为了热爱。

也为了挑战更好的自己。

当一个孩子愿意代表学校出战时，无论最终成绩如何，他已经迈出了最重要的一步。

因为真正的体育精神，不是在顺境中获胜，而是在困难面前依然选择出发。

而这一次，我们看见了许多令人动容的瞬间。

Abel在比赛中带伤出战。

高温、体力消耗和伤病带来的不适，没有让他选择放弃。

最终，他凭借顽强意志夺得个人第一名。

这枚奖牌背后，不只是技术和实力。

更是一个年轻运动员对于责任的理解。

当他决定带伤站上赛场、代表学校出战的那一刻，已经赢得了所有人的尊敬。

比赛当天气温居高不下。

Bella在比赛过程中出现中暑不适。

但她依然坚持完成了整个赛程，并取得了令人欣喜的成绩。

很多时候，成长不是一蹴而就的突破。

而是在想放弃的时候，再坚持一步。

Bella用自己的行动，为所有人上了一堂关于韧性的课程。

Andy与Shawn尽管因为身体和比赛状况的原因，未能完成全部赛程，但他们依然将最好的状态留在了球场上。

没有人因此否定他们的努力。

因为每一个关注比赛的人都知道，他们的实力不俗

体育最迷人的地方，从来不是结果的唯一性。

而是每个人都在与自己的极限较量。

奋力拼搏过的人，同样值得掌声。

对于Angelina和Helena来说，这是一次全新的挑战。

参赛经验尚浅，却依然选择代表学校出征。

也许奖牌暂时没有属于她们。

但属于她们的收获，或许更加珍贵。

因为每一位优秀运动员的成长，都始于第一次站上赛场的勇气。

今天的经历，终将成为未来突破自己的力量。

Michelle同样给大家留下深刻印象。

繁重的学业并没有阻挡她对于高尔夫的热爱。

在课业与训练之间，她始终保持着高标准的自我要求。

最终取得优异成绩的背后，是无数个别人看不见的坚持。

对于低龄学弟学妹而言，她不仅是一名优秀运动员，更是值得学习的榜样。

Aillen在本次赛事中拼尽全力。

比赛结束后，因为没有获得理想成绩，他难免有些失落。

但我们更想告诉他：一次比赛的结果，从来不能定义你的努力，更不能定义你的未来。

我们看见了你的认真，看见了你的坚持，也看见了你在压力之下始终没有放弃。

也许今天的结果没有如你所愿，但你在球场上展现出的专注、韧性和永不轻言放弃的精神，依然值得肯定。

请继续相信自己。

属于你的机会，还有很多。

而这一次经历，也终将成为你下一次出发的力量。

它属于每一个勇敢出发的人。

In the tradition of British education, sport has never been regarded as something separate from the classroom.

From Eton and Harrow to Oxford, Cambridge and generations of historic British schools, there has long been a belief that how a young person responds to competition can matter even more than how many times they win.

A trophy records a victory.Sport, however, can shape character that lasts a lifetime.

On 20 September, the Mission Hills International Schools Golf League Tournament took place as scheduled.

For many schools, it may have been simply another inter-school sporting event.

For MIS however, it was a day worth remembering.

Due to a clash with other major competitions, several of our seeded players were unable to participate. In those circumstances, it would have been entirely understandable for the school not to enter a team.

But a group of students who share a genuine passion for golf stepped forward.

They put on their Manchester Castle School uniforms and walked onto the course under the September sun in Shenzhen.

For their school.

For the sport they love.

And for the opportunity to challenge themselves.

When a student chooses to represent their school in competition, regardless of the final result, they have already taken an important step.

Because true sportsmanship is not simply about winning when circumstances are favourable. It is about having the courage to step forward when the challenge is greater.

And during this tournament, we witnessed many moments that made us truly proud.

Abel competed despite carrying an injury.

The heat, physical demands and discomfort did not stop him from giving his best.

In the end, through remarkable determination, he secured first place individually.

Behind the medal was not only skill and ability, but also a strong sense of commitment and responsibility.

By choosing to step onto the course despite his injury and represent his school, Abel had already earned the respect of everyone around him.

Temperatures remained high throughout the competition.

During the tournament, Bella experienced symptoms of heat exhaustion.

Yet she persevered and completed the full course, achieving a very encouraging result.

Growth does not always come through a dramatic breakthrough.

Sometimes, it happens in the moment when we feel like giving up, but choose to take one more step.

Bella's determination offered everyone a powerful reminder of what resilience looks like in practice.

Due to physical and competitive circumstances, Andy and Shawn were unable to complete the full tournament.

But they still gave everything they had on the course.

No one should overlook the effort they put in.

Those who followed the competition know that both boys have genuine ability, and what mattered most was their willingness to challenge themselves and give their best.

One of the most valuable things about sport is that the final result does not tell the whole story.

Every athlete is also competing against their own limits.

Those who give their all deserve our applause.

For Angelina and Helena, this was a completely new challenge.

With relatively limited competition experience, they nevertheless chose to step forward and represent their school.

The medals may not have been theirs this time.

But what they gained may prove to be even more valuable.

Every accomplished athlete begins somewhere, and every sporting journey starts with the courage to enter the arena for the first time.

The experience they gained today will become part of the confidence they carry into future challenges.

Michelle: A Role Model of Passion and CommitmentMichelle also left a strong impression on everyone at the tournament.A demanding academic schedule has never diminished her passion for golf.Balancing academic commitments with training and competition requires discipline, consistency and a high level of self-management.Her strong performance was built on countless hours of effort that others may never see.For her younger schoolmates, Michelle is not only a talented young athlete, but also a wonderful example of what can be achieved when passion and commitment go hand in hand.

Aillen gave everything he had in this tournament.

After the competition, he was understandably disappointed that he did not receive his best performance.

But we want him to know that one competition can never define his effort, nor can it define his future.

We saw her commitment.

We saw her determination.
And we saw that, even under pressure, he never stopped trying.

The outcome may not have been what he had hoped for, but the focus, resilience and perseverance he demonstrated on the course are qualities worth celebrating.

We hope Allen will continue to believe in himself.

There will be many more opportunities ahead.

And this experience will become part of the strength he carries into his next challenge.

We would like to thank every student who stepped onto the course.

Thank you for competing in the heat.

Thank you for representing your school with pride.

Thank you for showing us what teamwork and sportsmanship truly mean.

At the end of the day, this was never simply about the number of medals or the final rankings.

You showed us something far more important:

The most valuable quality of a Manchester Castle School student is not that they must always win.

It is that, when the moment calls for it, they have the courage to step forward.

We know that behind every student who takes part in a competition, there is a family quietly supporting them.

Early mornings.

Countless journeys to and from training.

Encouragement during difficult moments.

And the patient presence of parents waiting at the side of the course.

It is because of your trust and support that our students have the opportunity to step onto wider stages, challenge themselves and discover what they are capable of achieving.

On the fairways of Mission Hills on 20 September, we saw all of these qualities in our students.

We saw their courage.

We saw their resilience.

And we saw the pride they carried in representing MIS

The way you represented your school, with courage, commitment and pride, was one of the most memorable sights of this autumn.

Sportsmanship belongs to more than just champions.

It belongs to everyone who has the courage to step forward.
