Dear Lighthouse Family,

As the year turns and a new chapter begins, with the Chinese New Year of the Horse approaching, I would like, on behalf of my family, to extend my warmest New Year greetings and best wishes to every member of the Lighthouse family, as well as to all friends and partners who have supported us throughout the years.

Looking back on 2025, it was a year of steady progress and remarkable achievements for Lighthouse Group. We are delighted to see that, through the collective efforts of our faculty and students, Merchiston International School (MIS) Shenzhen delivered outstanding results in the 2026 university application season. Our students achieved continued breakthroughs in admissions to world-leading institutions such as Oxford and Cambridge, with strong and stable performance across the G5 super-elite universities, further consolidating MIS Shenzhen’s position as a benchmark for pure British international education in Shenzhen. Every offer received is both a recognition of our students’ academic passion and a vivid reflection of MIS’s commitment to the philosophy of “education that does not select children,” alongside our vision of being “academically excellent and the warmest school.”

Meanwhile, the development of MIS Qianhai Campus has been equally inspiring. With growth in both scale and teaching quality, it has enabled more families in the Qianhai area to access high-quality British international education. Dongguan Xingzhi School has actively advanced vocational education reform and made solid progress toward the internationalisation of vocational education, opening new pathways for nurturing talents with both professional skills and a global outlook.

Our ties with our British parent school have also grown closer. In November last year, in-depth exchanges between the Group’s Board and the parent school in the UK infused Lighthouse Education with a more authentic British heritage and a broader international perspective.

Achievements are recorded in history, while the future begins today. Standing at the starting point of a new year, we shoulder a higher educational mission and hold an even more ambitious vision for development.

We will continue to focus on our “Four Ones” cultural goals, remain firmly student-centred, and empower teaching and learning with AI. With “Lighthouse Home” as our foundation, we will build an educational ecosystem in which teachers and students grow together and illuminate one another. Every student we cultivate should become a global citizen with light in their eyes, a smile on their face, love in their heart, responsibility on their shoulders, skills in their hands, and footprints across the world.

Our aspiration is to build a joyful school, a school that shapes character and spirit, a school that is academically excellent and profoundly warm, and a British boarding international school rooted in China and oriented toward the world and the future. Here, the essence of British education meets the wisdom of Chinese culture; the innovation of the Greater Bay Area connects with the global stage, paving the way for every student to step confidently into the future and onto the world stage.

The Year of the Horse symbolises momentum and progress. In the year ahead, may every member of Lighthouse continue to move forward with the spirit of galloping horses, unite with collective strength, remain true to our educational mission, and jointly write a new chapter for Lighthouse Education.
