五月的深圳，青春飞扬。在刚刚落幕的龙华区五四青年节主题活动中，深圳曼校杰出外籍教师Claude，作为全区唯一受邀的外籍优秀青年代表，登台发表激情洋溢的演讲，娓娓道来他扎根龙华、逐梦湾区的动人故事。活动结束后，Claude老师还应邀接受了深圳电视台的专访，分享他的感悟与见证。

Claude老师来自加拿大，却在深圳找到了事业的舞台与生活的家园。在演讲中，他深情回顾了自己在曼校的教学点滴：从课堂上的思维碰撞，到课后与学生的真诚交流；从最初的语言文化适应，到如今成为深受学生爱戴的人文老师。

他说：“龙华区不仅给了我一份工作，更给了我归属感。这里开放、包容、充满活力，让我相信——梦想可以跨越国界。”

在深圳曼校，还有许多外籍教师正以各自的方式，慢慢融入龙华、爱上龙华。从最初只会说“你好”“谢谢”，到如今熟练地用手机支付、骑共享单车穿行于龙华的公园与街巷——这些看似平凡的日常，汇聚成外籍教师们从“文化适应”到“乐在其中”的真实轨迹。 

 他们在龙华工作、生活，结交本地朋友，参加社区活动，把这里当成了第二故乡。他们的故事，是龙华区国际化社区建设、营造包容开放环境的生动缩影，也印证着这座城区“来了就是深圳人”的温度。

值得一提的是，2024年春节，深圳曼校校长Marion女士也曾荣获“深圳全球传播使者”荣誉称号。这一殊荣，是深圳市政府对Marion校长多年来积极推动国际教育交流、促进多元文化融合所做出的杰出贡献的最大肯定。她带领曼校团队，持续引进纯正的高品质英式教育体系，搭建中外师生对话平台，成为连接深圳链接国际教育的重要桥梁。

从校长到一线教师，曼校正以实际行动诠释着“学术卓越、最具温暖”的办学理念，持续为深圳的国际教育交流注入正能量。

As spring unfolds in Shenzhen the spirit of youth is everywhere. At the recent Longhua District May Fourth Youth Day celebration, Mr. Claude, an outstanding international teacher at Merchiston International School Shenzhen (MIS), took the stage as the ONLY international youth representative across the district. He delivered a heartfelt speech, sharing his inspiring journey of building his career and pursuing his dreams in Longhua and the Greater Bay Area. Following the event, Mr. Claude was invited for an exclusive interview with Shenzhen TV, where he spoke about his experiences and insights.

Originally from Canada, Mr. Claude has found both his professional home and personal sense of belonging in Shenzhen. In his address, he recalled his meaningful teaching journey at MIS: from lively classroom discussions and warm interactions with students, to adapting to life in a new culture and becoming a much-loved educator on campus.

“Longhua has given me more than a job — it has given me a home,” he said. “It is open, inclusive and full of energy. It shows me that dreams truly transcend borders.”

At MIS, many other expatriate teachers are finding their own ways to gradually settle into Longhua and fall in love with it.

From knowing only “ni hao” and “xie xie” at the beginning, to now paying seamlessly with their phones and cycling through Longhua’s parks and streets on shared bikes – these seemingly ordinary moments come together as real stories of moving from “cultural adjustment” to “truly enjoying life here”.

They work and live in Longhua, make local friends, take part in community activities, and have come to call this place their second home. Their experiences are vivid snapshots of Longhua’s international community building and its inclusive, open environment – reflecting the warmth of a district that lives by the saying: “Once you’re in Shenzhen, you’re one of us.”

MIS’s global influence continues to shine. In the 2024 Spring Festival, MIS Principal Ms. Marion was awarded the prestigious title “Shenzhen Global Communication Ambassador” — a formal recognition by the Shenzhen Municipal Government of her long‑standing contribution to international education exchange and cross‑cultural collaboration. Under her leadership, MIS has brought authentic British education to Shenzhen and built a lasting bridge between China and the world.
